funny costumes, pt 2

November 5, 2009

Here’s some more pictures of costumes for Halloween, parties, conventions, etc.  The first funny costumes post featured superhero costumes, so this one will be more random.   Some are from popular franchises like Star Wars and Halo, and there are some creative and well-done ones in here, too.  Feel free to comment on any of them, if you have something funny to add.

If you want to be a generic green army man, you can buy this costume.

costume - Halo costume

This is the hero, Master Chief, from Halo 3. This one will be popular! You can get a cheaper one for $68.95, but the "supreme edition" (shown) is $779.99.

Zoltar, from the movie "Big". This is very well-done! It's not for sale, but at this link they tell how they made it.

Once again this is getting long, so I’ll put the rest in another post.   Here’s a link to search for the other funny costumes posts.

funny costumes, pt 1

October 28, 2009

For years, people have enjoyed dressing up in costumes, whether for Halloween or for parties.  There’s also movie premiers and conventions, where die-hard fans get into cosplay (costume roleplay).  Sometimes these costume attempts end up being funny, whether intentionally or just because it’s so bad (epic fail).   Here’s a few that fall into one of those categories (but mostly the latter).  Let’s start with people trying to be superheroes.

guy in Aquaman costume, with feathers

Why would you want to dress up as a wuss? And with feathers?

Spiderman costume, but something's wrong

There's several things wrong with this picture. Can you find them?

guy in Batman costume

The Atkins Diet really worked for Batman!

guy in Captain Marvel costume

Does this make you marvel?

guy in costume - it's not easy being Green... Lantern

It's not easy being Green... Lantern.

guy in Flash Gordon costume

I know he's supposed to be a good guy, but this scares me.

guy in Galactus costume

Uhh...

old man in Batman costume, missing parts

No utility belt, no shoes, no service.

costume - Iron Man downgraded to Paper Man

The economic downturn even affected Tony Stark. But switching from iron to paper is gonna cost him in other ways...

costume - Space Ghost

Space Ghost is awesome, but every time someone dresses up like him, it just doesn't work out so well...

This post is getting long, so I’ll put the rest of them in another post.  Here’s a link to search for the other funny costumes posts.

funny pictures, episode 4

July 31, 2009

While perusing teh Internets for photos for upcoming caption contests, I come across many funny photos that are worth sharing because, as the name implies, they are funny photos.  :)   Of course, if you have any comments or captions to write for any of the pictures, feel free.   Actually, in this issue, I would like some captions for the last picture, because I just don’t get it.

Some people don't even try to hide their bias.

Why???

Why???

This last picture was taken by a friend this past week.  I also saw it, and was wondering why in the world someone would put a Dodge Neon of all cars on a huge frame like that.  I really don’t understand.  If you have any possible explanation for this, share it in a comment.

hair bands of the ’80s

July 11, 2009

The decade of the ’80s saw some tacky fashion trends, too many to name here, but one that stands out is the “hair band”, where guys in rock bands had long hair — sometimes even with perms. Ugh!

Be forewarned that the following pictures are not for the squeamish. If you can withstand the tackiness, look beyond the big hair and notice what some of them are wearing. I was a child of the ’80s, so fortunately I didn’t get too caught up in that craziness. But looking back, you have to wonder how in the world people thought that was cool!

Can anyone explain how that was ever considered fashionable? I have no idea… Did we just overlook that because some of the music was good? Could there be any other possible explanation?
