caption contest, guy wearing a huge sombrero

One of our regular readers had a birthday recently, and we were at one of my favorite restaurants, Los Amigos.  So I had the waiters help celebrate, with their special birthday song.  As you can see below, the special guest gets to wear a huge sombrero, and the waiters hit you on the head while they sing to you.   It’s a great time.  You also get a free dessert out of it.

Anyway, in the era of cell phones with cameras, we were able to capture this event.  And I’m posting one of the pictures here for this week’s caption contest.  So what can you say about this situation and what the people involved might be thinking?

  1. “I’m here enjoying some of the best Mexican food, enjoying the fellowship with the cool folks, and then this hat comes out of nowhere, and folks are singing in Spanish and hitting me on the head! What’s going on?”

  2. it was a typical day at Los Amigos, when from out of nowhere the ‘phantom sombrero’ appears hovering over the table… what to do? what to do!!! order another plate of course… this one is empty!

  3. The sombrero was Richard’s last ditch effort to convince the world what he’d been saying for years: “My skin may be white, but my blood runs brown!”

  4. Aim for success, not perfection. Never give up your right to be wrong, because then you will lose the ability to learn new things and move forward with your life.

    • Uhh…

Oh, you must mean to aim for success in your Mexican food. And to never give up your right to be hungry. Now it makes sense… 🙂
